A lifetime in a single person’s life – Meeting Destiny

Everyday is everyday but when you get to meet a somebody special enough you remember that particular
day. Then you tend to deliberate as you find that this day starts changing the way you think or you don’t.
October 31 2018, around about 9:40am I first saw her broadest smile and most kindred spirit walking
around in this body unmistakably beautiful, I met Tarryn. A cancer survivor and a fighter for life.

We were tasked to sponsor a dress towards her participation in a contest called “I am Woman”. A little
ironic I thought as a woman myself because there’s so many moments that define us a woman with good
and bad and isn’t it in that itself the contest? So how exactly does someone win over someone else? Then I
continued to think about it further only to realise it’s not really winning over someone else because we win
everyday but celebrating and sharing your moments with others so people like me can be inspired and
carry on our fight.

So, she was filled with so much gratitude and love that we not only accepted the task but did so – so
willingly. There were so many heart felt messages pouring thereafter from friends and family being ever so
thankful. Our two day turn around time to get her outfit made is nothing like people’s lifetime or in this case
Tarryn’s pursuit and days of fighting for life. How do you explain fighting to live?

She shared with me her view on life now and how what seemed to be in her lifetime of perfect health before
cancer she never really lived and through cancer she is now living every moment. “My journey is just
starting”, she says. I was so terribly moved by her presence and her will and I wanted to share this with
you. We all fight battles, wars filled with hurt, pain and sometimes even worse. A cancer of some sort. When
we stop to listen to somebody else’s battle somehow yours doesn’t feel so torturous, and it is at this point
we either choose to stop and start fighting back or stop and surrender.

I shudder to think about what happens if you choose to not to fight. So there’s no point in wasting time
thinking about it at all. There’s too many people to still meet, too many goals to achieve too many memories
to be make to many insane shoes to still buy. So you have to keep going and choose to live.

So to Tarryn, thank you for giving me and the people like me a new lease on life. A new perspective even if i
had to change the direction of my view to see it. To not wait until we have that life changing moment to
appreciate all the crazy-amazing things we have, starting with our chance to live. This experience for me
may have been just designing a dress to your contest but I’m changing my view it’s my design for life.

I have the chance to design for you and the many other people and if I can get the broadest smile of
confidence in doing so then this is my opportunity to getting closer to purpose and meeting destiny.
